Work hours calculator with breaks and overnight shifts
Add multiple shifts, subtract breaks and handle overnight work. See hours and minutes alongside decimal hours. Free and device-only.
How it works
End time minus start time, plus 24 hours when next day is selected, minus break minutes. Totals use integer minutes. Each shift may be at most 24 hours; add up to 31 shifts.
Example
22:00 to 06:30 the next day, with a 30-minute break, gives 8 hours 0 minutes net, or 8.00 decimal hours.
Does 7.50 hours mean 7 hours 50 minutes?
No. 7.50 decimal hours means 7 hours 30 minutes. Each row is an independent shift. This tool does not detect overlapping dates, adjust for daylight saving or calculate wages and statutory overtime.
